Kai-Fu Lee

Kai-Fu Lee is the Chairman & CEO of Sinovation Ventures and President of the Sinovation AI Institute, where he leads the firm's investments and venture building across frontier AI technologies. His work focuses on advancing enterprise-scale generative and agentic AI, and incubating deep tech startups through Sinovation's $3B platform.

He is best known for founding 01.AI, a generative AI unicorn driving advancements in domain-specific large language models and AI systems built for scale. Earlier in his career, he served as President of Google China, and held senior leadership roles at Microsoft, SGI, and Apple, where he led foundational AI projects in speech and natural language.

Dr. Lee's contributions to AI include pioneering work in game-playing AI, continuous speech recognition, and the creation of Microsoft Research Asia, now one of the world's top AI research labs. He has authored AI Superpowers and AI 2041, two internationally bestselling books exploring the global impact of AI.

Named to TIME's Top 25 AI Leaders and a Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum's AI Council, Dr. Lee continues to shape how AI is built, scaled, and deployed across industries worldwide.
